Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company

Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company was a British shipbuilding firm established in 1897 in London. It specialized in constructing ships, particularly for the Royal Navy and commercial clients. The company also diversified into manufacturing engineering products. In 1900, it became West Ham United Football Club, which evolved into one of England’s top football teams. The shipbuilding operations were later absorbed into larger maritime companies, but Thames Ironworks played a significant role in London's industrial history and the development of British naval capabilities.
