Textus Roffensis

The Textus Roffensis is a significant medieval manuscript created around 1120, combining two main parts: a collection of laws and legal documents from Anglo-Saxon England and norms from the Norman period. Named after Rochester (Roffensis), it provides valuable insights into early English law, governance, and society. Preserved at Rochester Cathedral, it is one of the earliest surviving law codes from England, offering historians and scholars a rare glimpse into medieval legal history and the development of common law practices.
