Texas Military Department

The Texas Military Department (TMD) is the organization responsible for managing Texas' military resources, including the Texas National Guard. It supports state and federal missions such as disaster response, emergency assistance, and national defense. The TMD includes the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, and State Guard, working alongside civilian agencies to protect and assist the people of Texas. It operates under the authority of the governor for state emergencies and can be federalized by the President for national defense.
