Texas judiciary
The Texas judiciary is the state's system of courts that interpret and apply laws. It includes a hierarchical structure: trial courts handle cases like criminal, civil, and family matters; intermediate courts (courts of appeals) review decisions from trial courts; and the Texas Supreme Court (for civil cases) and the Court of Criminal Appeals (for criminal cases) are the highest courts. Judges are either elected or appointed, and the system aims to ensure justice, uphold laws, and protect constitutional rights through fair and impartial decision-making.
