Tetrad
A tetrad is a group of four related items or components. In biology, it’s often used to describe a set of four chromatids (DNA strands) that form during the process of meiosis, which is how cells divide to produce egg and sperm. These four chromatids are paired together, allowing for the exchange of genetic material in a process called crossing over. This exchange increases genetic diversity. Overall, a tetrad represents a unit of four connected parts working together during genetic recombination.
