Territory Status

Territory status refers to the political standing of a geographical area that is not a fully independent state but is not a part of an existing country either. These areas, often called territories, may be governed by another country, have a degree of self-governance, or be under special administrative arrangements. Their residents might have varying rights, such as limited political representation or differing laws compared to citizens of the governing country. Examples include Puerto Rico, which is a US territory with its own local government, or Greenland, which is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark.
