Terri's Law (Florida law)

Terri’s Law was a Florida legislation enacted in 2003 that temporarily prohibited the donee (healthcare providers or family) from removing Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube, allowing her to continue receiving nutrition and hydration despite her persistent vegetative state. The law was enacted during a high-profile legal and ethical battle over her care and aimed to preserve her life while further legal proceedings occurred. However, the law was short-lived, expired later that year, and subsequent court decisions allowed the removal of her feeding tube, leading to her death.
