Terramare culture

The Terramare culture was a prehistoric civilization that developed around 1500-900 BCE in northern Italy’s Po Valley. Named after the characteristic earth mounds (terramares) they built for settlements, they were advanced in agriculture, animal domestication, and craft production. Their society featured organized villages, pottery, and metallurgical skills, reflecting a complex and thriving community. The culture declined around 900 BCE, likely due to environmental changes and social shifts. The Terramare culture provides valuable insights into early European societal development during the Bronze Age.
