Terapanthi
Terapanthi is a sect within Jainism, an ancient Indian religion emphasizing non-violence, truth, and asceticism. The name "Terapanthi" derives from "Terapan," meaning 13, symbolizing their emphasis on the thirteen principles of Jain philosophy. They are known for their disciplined lifestyle, strict vegetarianism, and dedication to spiritual growth through meditation, study, and ethical conduct. Unlike some other Jain groups, Terapanthis often focus on monastic living and organized community practices while maintaining respect for diverse Jain traditions. Their goal is to attain liberation (moksha) by practicing compassion, non-violence, and self-discipline.
