Teracotta Army

The Terracotta Army is a collection of thousands of life-sized clay sculptures of soldiers, horses, and chariots buried near China’s First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, around 210–209 BCE. Created to protect him in the afterlife, the figures display detailed craftsmanship with unique facial features and attire. Discovered in 1974, the army provides valuable insights into ancient Chinese military history, artistry, and beliefs about the afterlife. It is considered one of the greatest archaeological finds and a testament to the grandeur and complexity of ancient Chinese imperial power.
