It operates power plants, including nuclear, thermal, and hydroelectric facilities. TEPCO manages the infrastructure needed for power distribution and strives to ensure a stable energy supply. The company gained international attention after the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster, which resulted from a major earthquake and tsunami. Since then, TEPCO has focused on safety improvements, decommissioning damaged reactors, and increasing renewable energy sourcing, balancing public safety with energy demands.
