TEPCO, or Tokyo Electric Power Company, is Japan’s largest utility company responsible for generating and supplying electricity to Tokyo and surrounding areas. It operates power plants, including nuclear, thermal, and hydroelectric facilities. TEPCO manages the infrastructure needed for power distribution and strives to ensure a stable energy supply. The company gained international attention after the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster, which resulted from a major earthquake and tsunami.
