Tenure Types
Tenure types refer to the different kinds of job security and rights employees have in a workplace. Common types include permanent (or tenured) positions, which offer long-term stability and protection against unfair dismissal, often after a probation period. Fixed-term roles are for specific periods or projects with no guarantee of continuation. Temporary or casual positions are short-term, often seasonal, with less job security. Each type determines the level of protection, benefits, and expectations, helping both employers and employees understand the nature of their employment relationship.
