Tenolysis

Tenolysis is a surgical procedure that removes or releases a tight or scarred tendon that has become stuck or limited in movement. It’s often performed when a tendon's natural glide is restricted due to adhesions or scar tissue, usually after injury or previous surgery. By carefully freeing the tendon from surrounding scar tissue, tenolysis restores normal movement and function. The procedure is commonly used in hand surgery or cases where tendons in the limbs are causing restricted motion. Recovery may involve physical therapy to regain strength and flexibility.
