Temporary Green Card
A Temporary Green Card, officially called a conditional Green Card, grants legal permanent residence in the U.S. for a limited period, usually two years. It is often issued to individuals who have obtained their status through marriage that is less than two years old or certain investment programs. Before it expires, the holder must apply to remove the conditions and prove their eligibility to receive a permanent Green Card. This process ensures that the immigrant’s situation remains valid, allowing them to live and work in the U.S. permanently once conditions are removed.
