Temple of Artemis

The Temple of Artemis was an ancient Greek religious structure dedicated to the goddess Artemis, located in Ephesus (modern-day Turkey). Renowned as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it was celebrated for its grand size and ornate details. Built around the 6th century BCE, the temple served as a center for worship and commerce, attracting pilgrims and visitors. Over centuries, it was destroyed and rebuilt multiple times, with the most famous version destroyed by fire in 401 CE. Today, only ruins remain, offering insight into ancient Greek architecture and religious practices.
