Templar History

The Templar Order was a medieval Christian military and financial organization founded in 1119 to protect pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem. They became a powerful, wealthy group recognized for their martial skill, discipline, and distinctive white cloaks with a red cross. Over time, they developed a vast banking network, aiding kings and merchants. Their influence and secretive nature led to suspicion, and in 1307, they were accused of heresy, resulting in their disbandment by the Pope in 1312. Today, the Templars are often linked to legends of treasure and mystery, but historically, they played a significant role in medieval religious and financial history.
