temperate zones

Temperate zones are regions on Earth located between the Tropics and the Polar circles, roughly between 23.5° and 66.5° north and south. These areas experience moderate climates with distinct seasons—warm summers and cool winters—due to the angle of the Sun's rays changing throughout the year. This variation allows for a variety of plant and animal life, supporting diverse ecosystems. Compared to tropical or polar regions, temperate zones generally have more predictable weather patterns and are often suitable for agriculture and human habitation because of their moderate temperatures and rainfall.
