Telnet

Telnet is a communication protocol that allows someone to connect remotely to another computer or server over a network. It acts like a text-based interface, enabling users to control the remote machine as if they were directly in front of it. This is useful for managing servers, troubleshooting, or running commands remotely. However, Telnet transmits data, including passwords, in plain text, making it less secure. Because of this security concern, it has largely been replaced by more secure protocols like SSH for remote access.
