Telesilla

Telesilla was an ancient Greek poet and a heroic leader from the city of Argos. Living around the 5th century BCE, she is renowned for her bravery during a critical invasion by Spartan forces. When the city was under attack and its defenses were overwhelmed, Telesilla organized women and civilians to resist and protect their homes, helping to defend Argos. Aside from her military role, she was also celebrated for her poetry. Her actions exemplify courage, leadership, and the vital role women played in moments of crisis in ancient Greece.
