Telectroscope
A telectroscope is a device that allows people in different locations to see and communicate with each other as if they were in the same room. It works by transmitting live video and audio signals over a network, connecting two cameras and screens. Although the concept has been around since the 19th century, modern telectroscopes often use the internet for real-time, remote visual communication. Essentially, it bridges physical distance, enabling interactive visual connection, much like a video call but sometimes with specialized or artistic features.
