Tektites
Tektites are natural glass objects formed when a large meteorite impacts Earth’s surface, causing enormous energy release. This impact melts and ejects terrestrial rock, which cools and solidifies while flying through the atmosphere. The resulting tektites are typically dark, glassy, and oval or irregular in shape, often found in specific strewn fields around the impact site. They provide valuable clues about impact events and Earth's geological history, with their composition closely matching local crustal material, indicating they originate from Earth's surface rather than space.
