The TEI Community, or Text Encoding Initiative, is a global group focused on developing and promoting standards for encoding and sharing cultural and scholarly texts in digital formats. It helps ensure that texts—from literature to historical documents—are preserved, understood, and accessible in the digital age. By providing guidelines on how to mark up these texts with specific codes, it enables better collaboration among researchers, teachers, and institutions, supporting digital humanities projects and making information more usable for everyone.
