tectonic plate boundaries

Tectonic plate boundaries are the edges where large sections of Earth's crust, called plates, meet. These boundaries are responsible for many geological activities, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and mountain formation. There are three main types: divergent boundaries (plates move apart, creating new crust), convergent boundaries (plates collide, causing mountain ranges or subduction zones), and transform boundaries (plates slide past each other, leading to earthquakes). These movements happen because Earth's outer layer is dynamic and constantly shifting, shaping the planet's surface over time.
