Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)
Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) are a scale used to measure the maturity of a new technology, from idea to full implementation. Ranging from TRL 1 (basic principles observed) to TRL 9 (system proven in operational environment), each level assesses how much testing, development, and validation has been completed. This helps organizations understand how close a technology is to real-world use, manage risks, and plan development resources effectively. Essentially, TRLs provide a structured way to evaluate progress and readiness for deployment or commercialization.
