Team Folding@home

Folding@home is a collaborative project where volunteers run software on their computers to perform scientific research on protein folding and related diseases. By sharing computing power, it simulates how proteins fold and misfold, helping scientists understand illnesses like Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s. This distributed approach enables large-scale computations that would be costly and time-consuming for individual labs, ultimately contributing to the development of treatments and cures. Participants contribute anonymously or publicly, and their hardware works in the background, calculating complex models to advance medical science without disrupting regular computer use.
