
Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu
Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu is the governing body representing the Ngāi Tahu iwi (tribe) in New Zealand. Established to preserve and promote Ngāi Tahu’s cultural identity, interests, and rights, it manages customary practices, educational initiatives, and economic development. The rūnanga also works to ensure responsible stewardship of the tribe’s land and resources, advocating on issues affecting Ngāi Tahu. Its role is to support the wellbeing of the tribe's members and maintain their cultural heritage, while engaging with government and other organizations to uphold Ngāi Tahu’s interests nationally.
