Taxol (Paclitaxel)

Taxol, also known as Paclitaxel, is a chemotherapy drug used to treat various cancers, including ovarian, breast, and lung cancer. It works by interfering with cancer cells’ ability to divide and multiply, essentially freezing their growth process. Paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules, which are structures inside cells that help with cell division, preventing them from breaking down as they normally would. This disruption causes cancer cells to die or stop growing. While effective, it can also affect healthy cells, leading to side effects like hair loss, fatigue, and nerve issues.
