Taurids

The Taurids are a group of meteor showers that originate from debris left by Comet Encke and possibly other comets. They occur annually from late June to December, with peaks typically in early November and late June. When Earth passes through these debris streams, tiny particles enter our atmosphere at high speeds, burning up and creating visible streaks called meteors or "shooting stars." The Taurids are known for producing some bright fireballs and are divided into two subgroups: the Northern and Southern Taurids. They offer a fascinating glimpse into the remnants of cometary material lingering in space.
