Tartaglia (Niccolò Fontana)
Niccolò Fontana Tartaglia (1490–1557) was an Italian mathematician known for his work in algebra and projectile motion. He became famous for solving cubic equations through innovative methods and for his contributions to mathematics education. Tartaglia also studied ballistics, helping to understand how objects move through the air, which influenced military technology. Despite a physical deformity from a childhood injury, he achieved significant academic success. His writings and discoveries laid important groundwork for later mathematicians and scientists, earning him a lasting reputation in the history of mathematics and science.
