Tars
The tars are a group of bones located in the foot, forming the ankle and the back part of the foot. They connect the leg bones (tibia and fibula) to the metatarsals, enabling foot movement and weight-bearing. The tarsus includes seven bones, such as the talus and calcaneus (heel bone), which work together to provide stability, support, and shock absorption during walking, running, and standing. Proper functioning of the tarsus is essential for mobility and balance.
