Tarifit

Tarifit, also known as Riffian, is a Berber language spoken mainly in the Rif region of northern Morocco. It is part of the Amazigh (Berber) language family and features unique sounds and vocabulary that distinguish it from Arabic and other regional languages. Tarifit serves as a vital cultural and linguistic identity for the Riffian people, often used in everyday communication, traditional practices, and local media. While primarily oral, efforts are underway to standardize its written form and promote its use in education and literature, helping preserve this rich linguistic heritage.
