Targaryen Civil War

The Targaryen Civil War, known as the Dance of the Dragons, was a fierce internal conflict in Westeros (the fictional world of "Game of Thrones") between rival factions of the Targaryen dynasty over the Iron Throne. It arose after King Viserys I's death, pitting his supporters against those of his daughter Rhaenyra. Both sides had dragons and armies, leading to widespread destruction and loss of life. The war ended with Rhaenyra’s defeat, weakening the Targaryen rule and causing long-lasting instability in the realm.
