Tarabai Shinde was an Indian writer and social reformer in the 19th century who challenged gender inequalities. She is best known for her groundbreaking work "Maṅgilā" (1850), a feminist critique that exposed the mistreatment of women and the societal constraints they faced. Her writing questioned traditional gender roles and advocated for women’s rights and education. Shinde’s work is considered one of India’s earliest feminist texts, inspiring future generations to fight for gender equality and social justice.
