tape echo

Tape echo is an audio effect created by playing a sound recorded on magnetic tape, then looping and delaying it to produce repeating echoes. When the tape moves past the recording and playback heads at different speeds or distances, it creates successive, decaying repeats of the original sound. This process was common in early recording studios and gave recordings a warm, organic echo effect. Today, tape echo effects are often emulated electronically, capturing its characteristic sound that adds depth and vibrancy to music or audio production.
