Tank Corps (UK)
The Tank Corps was a British military unit established during World War I to operate and develop armored fighting vehicles, called tanks. Formed in 1916, their goal was to break the deadlock of trench warfare by providing mobile firepower and protected mobility on the battlefield. The Corps trained personnel, designed tactics, and supported infantry operations with these new vehicles. Over time, they became a crucial part of modern mechanized warfare, evolving into the Royal Tank Regiment, shaping future armored combat strategies.
