Tanabata Festival
The Tanabata Festival, also known as the Star Festival, is a traditional Japanese celebration held on July 7th, inspired by a romantic legend involving two star-crossed lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi. According to the story, they are separated by the Milky Way and are allowed to meet only once a year on this date. During Tanabata, people write their wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches. Celebrations often include ornamental decorations, festivals, and fireworks, creating a vibrant atmosphere that honors hope, love, and the longing for dreams to come true.
