Tanabata

Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival, is a Japanese celebration held on July 7th that commemorates the legend of two lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi, represented by the stars Vega and Altair. According to the story, these lovers are separated by the Milky Way and can only meet once a year on this date. During Tanabata, people write their wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches. The festival features decorated bamboo, fireworks, and various cultural events, symbolizing hope, love, and the fulfillment of wishes.
