Tamper evidence

Tamper-evidence refers to features or designs in packaging that make it obvious if someone has opened or altered the product unlawfully. These cues—such as seals, shrink bands, breakable caps, or special markings—act as indicators that the product has been compromised. Their purpose is to protect consumers by ensuring product integrity and safety; if tamper-evidence is present or if the seal is broken, consumers can be cautious or avoid using the product. Essentially, tamper-evidence provides a visible assurance that a product remains untouched from manufacturing to purchase.
