Tamoxifen Citrate

Tamoxifen Citrate is a medication primarily used to treat and prevent breast cancer, particularly in women with hormone receptor-positive tumors. It works by blocking estrogen—a hormone that can promote the growth of some breast cancer cells—thus reducing the risk of cancer recurrence. Tamoxifen is often prescribed after surgery or alongside other treatments and can also be used in women at high risk for developing breast cancer. Although generally effective, it can have side effects, such as hot flashes or increased risk of certain health issues, which should be discussed with a healthcare provider.
