Tamils
Tamils are an ethnic group primarily from southern India and northern Sri Lanka, known for their rich cultural heritage, language (Tamil), and history dating back thousands of years. They have their own language, Tamil, which is one of the oldest living languages in the world. Tamils have contributed greatly to arts, literature, religion, and education. While most live in India’s Tamil Nadu state, significant Tamil communities exist worldwide, especially in countries like Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, and the UK. They maintain a distinct identity through language, customs, and traditions, despite diverse modern influences.
