Tamil Sangam
The Tamil Sangam was an ancient collective of Tamil poets, scholars, and enthusiasts who flourished between roughly 300 BCE and 300 CE in southern India. It served as a cultural and literary assembly dedicated to nurturing Tamil language, poetry, and arts. The Sangam produced a rich body of classical Tamil literature, including lyrical poetry and ethical treatises, which reflect the society, values, and history of early Tamil civilization. These works remain foundational to Tamil cultural identity and are considered some of the earliest examples of Indian literature, highlighting a sophisticated tradition of literary and philosophical thought.
