Talas River

The Talas River, approximately 418 kilometers long, flows through Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in Central Asia. It originates in the Kyrgyz mountains and travels southwest, forming a natural border between the two countries before merging into the larger Syr Darya River. The Talas River supports agriculture, provides water for communities, and sustains local ecosystems. Historically, it was the site of the Battle of Talas in 751 AD, a significant event in Central Asian history. Its basin is important for farming and regional water resources, playing a vital role in the environmental and economic landscape of the area.
