Taipan

The taipan is a highly venomous snake native to Australia, known for its potent neurotoxic venom that can cause severe paralysis and death if untreated. There are three main types: the inland taipan, coastal taipan, and trunk snake (or western taipan). Despite their dangerous venom, taipans are generally shy and prefer to avoid humans, attacking only when threatened. They are exceptional hunters, primarily feeding on small mammals and rodents. Due to effective snakebite treatments, fatalities are rare, but caution is essential when in their habitats.
