Tadeusz Kościuszko (Kościuszko Uprising)

Tadeusz Kościuszko was a Polish military leader and national hero known for fighting for independence. In 1794, he led the Kościuszko Uprising against Russian and Prussian forces aiming to restore Poland’s sovereignty after it was partitioned by neighboring countries. Kościuszko’s efforts emphasized military reform and patriotic resistance, inspiring national unity. Although the uprising was ultimately suppressed, it highlighted Polish resistance to foreign domination and contributed to later efforts for independence. Kościuszko's legacy extends beyond Poland, as he also contributed to revolutionary causes in America, notably assisting in the American Revolution.
