T2K data analysis
The T2K experiment studies neutrinos by generating a beam of them at a source and detecting how they change as they travel to a distant detector. Scientists analyze the data to determine how often neutrinos switch types (oscillate), which helps reveal fundamental properties of these particles. They compare the detected neutrino patterns against predictions, accounting for background noise and detector responses, to understand neutrino behavior. This process involves complex statistical methods but ultimately aims to deepen our understanding of the universe's basic building blocks.
