Túpac Amaru II
Túpac Amaru II was an Indigenous leader in 18th-century Peru who led a significant revolt against Spanish colonial rule in 1780-1781. Named after the last Inca ruler, Túpac Amaru, he sought justice for Indigenous people suffering under harsh taxes and abuses. His rebellion gained widespread support among natives and mestizos but was ultimately suppressed by Spanish authorities.
