Systolic Heart Failure
Systolic heart failure occurs when the heart's main pumping chamber, the left ventricle, becomes weakened and can't pump blood efficiently to the rest of the body. This results in less oxygen-rich blood reaching organs and tissues, causing symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, and fluid buildup in the legs or lungs. It often happens due to damage from heart attacks, high blood pressure, or other heart conditions. Treatment aims to improve heart function, control symptoms, and prevent further damage, using medications, lifestyle changes, or devices as appropriate.
