Systemic Autoinflammatory Diseases

Systemic Autoinflammatory Diseases are conditions where the immune system mistakenly causes inflammation throughout the body without the typical infections or allergies. Normally, the immune system defends against germs, but in these diseases, it overreacts due to genetic factors, leading to repeated fevers, skin rashes, joint pain, and other symptoms. They are chronic and can affect multiple organs. Treatments often focus on controlling inflammation with medications. These diseases are different from autoimmune conditions because they involve the innate immune system’s malfunction, not the immune system attacking the body's own tissues.
