Synthetic Fabric
Synthetic fabric refers to textiles made from human-made fibers, typically derived from chemical processes. Common examples include polyester, nylon, and acrylic. These fabrics are created from raw materials like petroleum or natural gas, then spun into threads used to make clothing, furnishings, and other products. Synthetic fabrics are known for their durability, resistance to wrinkles and shrinking, and ease of care. They often cost less than natural fabrics like cotton or wool and can be engineered to have specific qualities, such as water resistance or stretch. Despite their advantages, synthetic fabrics may not be as breathable as natural fibers.
