Synod on the Family

The Synod on the Family was a gathering of Catholic bishops and Church leaders held in 2014 and 2015, focusing on issues related to family life within the Church. Its goal was to discuss challenges faced by families today—such as divorce, remarriage, cohabitation, and same-sex relationships—and to explore how the Church can better support and pastoral care for all families. The synod aimed to foster dialogue, offer guidance consistent with Church teaching, and find ways to accompany families with compassion and understanding amidst modern societal changes.
